20 Jun Neil Cunningham’s Why
A Colorado Springs native, Neil’s background includes law enforcement, social services/counseling, sales and now, irrigation. Neil owns and operates NEC Sprinklers, an irrigation company that serves El Paso County – including spring start-ups, repairs, installations, modifications and winterizations.
Neil wrote, “I was aware of Ronald McDonald House Charities for years. I often volunteered with a friend and helped with some of their annual events. In 2012, a very close friend’s son was hospitalized for three months at a facility out of state. Her family flew there to be with her son. For the entirety of her son’s hospitalization, the Ronald McDonald House kept their family close when they needed it most. I was taken by this organization’s amazing response to a family in need.
In 2017, Beth Alessio, Executive Director of the Southern Colorado Chapter, approached me with the opportunity to join the Board of Director’s and contribute on a different level. Since joining the board, I have served on multiple committees and am currently Treasurer of the Executive Board.”
