Board President Sara Correll’s Why

Board President Sara Correll’s Why

Sara Correll and her family have a long history with Ronald McDonald House Charities, beginning shortly after her birth and leading to service today as Board President of our Southern Colorado chapter.

Sara says, “My WHY is two-fold: legacy and transformation.

My family has been blessed by the Ronald McDonald House since I was just four months old, requiring life saving surgery in Denver, Colorado.  That event inspired my parents to become involved in the development of the Southern Colorado Ronald McDonald House.

Fast forwarding, now married and with children of our own, our son has required nine surgeries.  Our family has utilized several services at both the Denver and Colorado Springs Ronald McDonald Houses, particularly the Family Rooms.  We know our son will require additional surgeries.  It is such a comfort to know that the House is always here for us. Giving back as a board member is the least I can do – it is a part of my family’s legacy.

Over the last decade, as a counselor I have watched as significant changes have occurred, including COVID.  With mental health needs rising, particularly  those of children, teenagers and young adults, I am able to use my expertise and passion, partnering with Children’s Hospital Colorado and other organizations within the community to help support RMHCSC’s mission of keeping families close in this transformative time.”
