Recently five families from the “Hope Kids”  program visited our House for dinner. Hope Kids is a nonprofit organization that provides ongoing events, activities and a powerful, unique support community for families who have a child with cancer or some other life-threatening medical condition. The interaction between Hope Kids families and those families staying with us was transformative. We witnessed two very small children showing each other their infusion ports as their parents looked on. Bringing those struggling with similar diagnoses together reinforces the message that they are not alone, for both the parent and child, it speaks to our mission of support.
