How to Stay

Requesting a Room at the Ronald McDonald House®

Eligibility

Guests who stay at the Ronald McDonald House® must be at least 18-years old and/or be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

We welcome families who live 25 or more miles from the Ronald McDonald House® who are:

  • Related to a child (0-21 years of age) who is receiving medical treatment at a local medical facility
  • An expectant mother experiencing a high-risk pregnancy

Guests stay as long as their child is receiving treatment at a local medical facility. Should families choose to “pay it forward”, making a contribution, RMHCSC will gladly accept their gift.  Since 1987, no family has ever been turned away because of an inability to pay.

Our House provides a safe and comfortable communal living environment where guests share the responsibility for keeping our home clean and running smoothly.

Referrals

Hospital social workers and patient care coordinators from treating medical facilities provide referrals for the families we serve. Similarly, women who are experiencing high-risk pregnancies may also stay at the House, once the referral has been received.

Please let your child’s nurse know you would like to stay at the Ronald McDonald House. The nurse will contact the social worker who will reach out to us, confirming that your child is receiving medical care and that you need the services our House can provide.

Once the referral is received from the hospital social worker, RMHCSC will prepare for your arrival. Typically, registration takes about 15 minutes and includes a tour of our Ronald McDonald House.

Please Note: A referral is not a reservation and does not guarantee a room at the House. If/when a room is unavailable, RMHCSC staff will do their best to provide other accommodations.
