HOW TO STAY

Smiling family after staying at RMHC Colorado Springs

Requesting a Room at the Ronald McDonald House

Eligibility

Guests of the Ronald McDonald House of Southern Colorado must be at least eighteen years old or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Guests must also be:

  • Related to a child (0-21 years of age) who is receiving medical treatment at a local medical facility
  • An expectant mother experiencing a high-risk pregnancy

Guests may stay as long as their child is receiving treatment at a local medical facility. We encourage guest families to make a $20/night donation. However, if a donation can’t be made, families can still use the RMH services. No family will be turned away because of inability to make a donation.

All adults who stay in the House’s rooms must present their photo IDs and complete the registration process prior to check-in.

We are not a hotel. Instead, we offer a communal living environment where all guests share the responsibility for keeping our home safe, clean, and operating smoothly.

Referrals

Families who wish to stay at the Ronald McDonald House must get a referral from a hospital social worker or patient care coordinator at the medical facility where their child is receiving care. After they get a referral from a hospital social worker, women with high-risk pregnancies may also stay at the House.

Please let your child’s nurse know if you would like to stay at the Ronald McDonald House. The nurse will tell a social worker who will contact us, confirming that your child is receiving medical care and that you need the services that our House can provide.

Please Note: A referral is not a reservation and does not guarantee a room’s availability. Because each child’s treatment is unique, a family’s stay our House is unpredictable. Therefore, we can’t confirm room reservations, but we will do our best to provide accommodations when you need us.

After we receive the referral from the hospital social worker, we will prepare for your arrival. Typically, our registration takes about 15 minutes and includes a tour of the Ronald McDonald House.
