How it all began
Over forty years ago, a young girl was diagnosed with cancer. She needed her family’s support and care as much as they needed to be with her. An oncology doctor at the hospital had been dreaming of temporary housing, where families could stay to be near their child. Rallying together in support of this vision, an NFL team, McDonald’s, and an entire community made the dream of the first Ronald McDonald House a reality.
The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Colorado (RMHCSC) is to “Lift children and families in need to a better tomorrow.”
In support of our mission, RMHCSC’s cornerstone programs are the Ronald McDonald House, three Ronald McDonald Family Rooms (located in area hospitals), and the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile.
